Virginia Craft Brewing Reviews featuring Adroit Theory B/A/Y/S Batch 004

Today I review Adroit Theory Brewing’s B/A/Y/S Batch 004. Be sure to watch to the end and find out how you can get some cool stickers from them.

also as promised Adroit Theory Manifesto

There used to be music.
Beats that soothed the savage beast.
Defiant intervals. Sings of life.
The music was murdered.
Smothered in conformity.
Choked in Greed.
Commerce was the new score.
Utility the conductor.
Sure there were headphones.
Everybody wore them.
But it was to keep the music out.

Suburban streets are silent now.
Haunted houses: rows of Grey drones
standing at blind attention.
Solemn sedans: unmarked hearses.
Off to the Office.
The market. The grave.
No Music. Except.
There are a few. Those who hear the
throbbing in their heads. The ragged
rhythm of their breathing.
The pulse in the void.
It’s getting louder.
Caged in their ribs is a rattle.
A Hum. Listen.
A scream? A song?
A revolution.

Virginia Craft Beer Events from Feb 8th – Feb 14th

It’s good to be back home and getting back into the swing of things.  There are several items I wanted to get out.  So let’s start with a brew news!

First, this week I received a package from Adroit Theory Brewing.  It contained their B/A/Y/S batch 002, 003 & 004.  I haven’t sampled them yet but I intend to do so this weekend.  If you recall I did a review of their batch 001 last August.  You can view that review here.
This leads me to the video reviews. I did enjoy doing those and am looking to do more again.  The problem is I don’t really have an area I can do them with out being disturbed.  However, I’ll at least get a video review done for these three bottles and we’ll work it from there.

Earlier this week, Redbeard Brewing announced their Kickstarter project to help them raise funds to complete taproom among other projects.  They are still looking to be open late winter/early spring.  Check it out and see if you can pitch in.  Also another piece of good news from them is they got their Brewer’s Notice approved.  They will be submitting their state application next.

Dogfish Head Brewing and Sierra Nevada Brewing have collaborated along with Spiegelau to create the “perfect” IPA glass.   Personally, looks too much like the Sam Adam Glass that was released about 3 years ago.

Looking to next week Legend Brewing is hosting their 19th Anniversary.  As usual this will be a big to do and rightly so.  Along with that Local Suds having Legend’ary Brew Tour (personally as a fan of How I Met Your Mother, I would have called it Legend…*Wait For It*…ary Brew Tour).  As of right now there are seats available so check the link for details.

So with that let’s get into our updates:

Hardywood Park Craft Brewing is releasing their next in the Brewmaster Reserve series called Chocolate Heat starting at 2pm.  Music and Food will be available as well.
So Mekong is hosting Good People Beer Club presenting The Legend of the Malted Barley bottle share.  For $10 and a 22oz of something special come out and enjoy different beers to be shared.
Popkin Tavern will have their Beer School at 4pm.  However, they usually don’t release details until mid day on Friday.  I’ll post an updated event when I find out more.

Tue Feb 12th:
