Events happening in Virginia
To celebrate the release and Earth Day, we are having another Farm Extravaganza laden with vendors and multiple activities for families. We are truly excited to open up the farm for everyone to visit.
We will offer live music as well as an outdoor farmers market – complete with artisan crafts, farm animals, live demonstrations and children’s activities. The farmers market will feature seasonal produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods and locally made fine artisan crafts
Live music provided by: Andy Vaughan and The Driveline. The time they come on will be released later.
Vendors, children activities and gourmet food to be announced later.
When visiting Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery please drive safely and slowly in respect to our neighbors and wildlife.
Here’s the layout of the festivities
Not gonna waste any time today; let’s get into this week’s tasting lineup and new arrivals! Remember, deliveries are subject to selling out or other retail hiccups. Also, prices and limits are noted where applicable.
Arrowine Saturday Beer Tasting
April 19, 2014
Devils Backbone Gold Leaf Lager, Lexington, VA; 4.5% ABV, 17 IBU: The award-winning Pilsner from Devils Backbone is finally available at retail! Gold Leaf is light in body, with an emphasis on a crisp, dry finish. This first run won’t last long, but don’t fret–Gold Leaf is going to be DB’s first year-round canned beer! Scheduled to arrive Thursday, 4.17.14.; $10.99/6-pack cans
Devils Backbone Striped Bass Pale Ale, Lexington, VA; 5.2% ABV, 26 IBU: The seasonal favorite is back. If you’re looking for a clean, easy-going, refreshing Pale Ale you have to try Devils Backbone’s Striped Bass. Snag this great Virginia Pale Ale while you can! Scheduled to arrive Thursday, 4.17.14.; $10.99/6-pack cans
Mikkeller Better Half IPA, brewed/canned at Sly Fox, Pottstown, PA; 6.9% ABV: The second of Mikkeller’s canned beers made at Sly Fox has arrived! Better Half is a unique take on IPA, focusing as much on the sweetness of its generous malt addition as the bitterness of its hops. Another winner from Mikkel! In stock; $9.99/4-pack cans
Troegs LaGrave, Hershey, PA; 8% ABV: This new limited-run Belgian-style Tripel from Troegs is a wonderful take on the style. The joy of LaGrave is that for all of its complex flavors and 8% ABV, it’s well-balanced and doesn’t tax the palate. Also, LaGrave is worth trying now since it’ll be the base for some specialty projects down the road. In stock; $3.99/375mL bottles
Hof Ten Dormaal Barrel-Aged Project Blond No.8 (2013)–Port Charlotte barrels, Tildonk, Belgium; 12% ABV: Scotch lovers, heads up–you are going to want to try this. As part of its Barrel-Aged Project, the gang at Hof Ten Dormaal managed to get a hold of some barrels previously used by Bruichladdich to make their renowned Port Charlotte. Port Charlotte is very heavily peated, and that punchy Islay character comes through in spades when Dormaal’s outstanding Blond is aged in those barrels. Sweet and smoky, with classic hay/salt notes intertwined with the floral/spicy Belgian Blond. This isn’t for everyone, but it’s an experience, and those who like it will love it. In stock; $21.99/750mL bottle
Thanks as always and I’ll see you this weekend at Arrowine!
